Sam Hata is expected to testify as to his knowledge of non-bid contracts, bid-rigging and favoritism in the awarding of supply, service and construction contracts by Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate. In particular, he is expected to testify as to the hiring of Larry Mehau’s security firm Hawaii Protective Association, and contracts awarded to Constructors Hawaii, Inc., and/or Mark Construction, and any knowledge of relationships between Henry Peters, Richard S.H. Wong, and Mark Watase and Craig Watase of Mark Development.
Sam Hata is also expected to testify regarding his business, professional, personal and political relationships with Michael Chun, Rockne Freitas, Arnold Morgado, James Nicholson, Kazu Hayashida, Nathan Aipa, Colleen Wong, Dee Jay Mailer, Edwina Clarke, Larry Mehau, Robert Herkes, George Ariyoshi, John Waihee, and others to be determined upon discovery.
