JAMES J. C. HAYNES II
Chief executive officer of Maui Petroleum, joined the University of Hawaii Board of Regents in 2003. He is a graduate of Punahou School in Honolulu and an alumnus of the University of Hawai‘i, where he received his bachelor's degree in accounting. Haynes is also CEO of Hawai‘i Petroleum and Minit Stop Stores on Maui and the Big Island. He is a board member of the Hawai‘i Petroleum Marketers Association, Kalama Land Co., Kaupo Ranch, and Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Haynes is also a member of the Maui Rotary Club, a trustee of Seabury Hall and the 1997 recipient of the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce O‘o Award for Hawaiian Businessman of the Year. Haynes was also president of Maui Disposal Co., Inc., as well as president of JBG Corp., the parent company of McCabe, Hamilton & Renny, the state’s largest stevedoring company.
